Heaven gained an angel on Sunday, June 26, 2022 as Mrs. Ella Hunter Waters of Odum, Georgia (formerly of Brunswick) entered into Heavens Gates at the age of 85. She was born in Waynesboro, Georgia the daughter of the late William Leslie Hunter and the late Janie Messex Hunter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Waters; and a daughter, Mary E. Durant; two brothers, William T. Hunter and Leslie Hunter Jr.; also two sisters, Irene Hunter Hall and Versie Hunter Bell.
Ella was a Godly lady that loved only her Lord and Savior above her family. She was a member of New Life Sanctuary Church. She was known to place her family’s needs before her own. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Ella was the family’s matriarch and was very protective of her family. She was active in her church until her health declined, enjoyed working in her flower garden, and cooking. She also enjoyed creating a beautiful home for her family. Her famous fried chicken will be missed at the next family gathering. Ella will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Left to cherish her many memories are her son and daughter-in-law, Don R. Waters and Debra Waters; granddaughters, Jennifer W. Rine (Josh) and Patricia Anderson; great-grandchildren, Brandyn Dobbins (Kiah), Tiffany E. Dobbins, Nathaniel Dobbins, Brittany Anderson, Blake Anderson, Savannah Rine, and Georgia Rine. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family will receive friends between 6 – 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service to honor Ella’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, June 30, 2022, in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Tatum officiating. The burial will follow the service in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Josh Rine, Eddie Surrency, Brandyn Dobbins, Blake Mackoff, Tiffany Dobbins, and Roy Bell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the employees of Hospice of South Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Georgia.
