Emily Davis

Mary Emily Brown Davis, 73, of Darien, GA passed away Friday the 7th of March 2014 at her residence. The funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday the 11th of March 2014 at the Darien United Methodist Church with Rev. Rob McDaniel and Rev. Ron Register officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6 PM – 8 PM Monday the 10th of March 2014 at Edo Millerand Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Davis was born the 24th of March 1940 in Swainsboro, GA to the late Parker and Sally Brown. She moved to Darien in 1961 where she met and married Archie Davis and remained a lifelong resident. In retirement after selling Archie’s Restaurant in 1998, she loved travelling, playing bridge and baking pecan pies.

In addition to Mrs. Davis’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband Archie C. Davis.

Survivors include her children Bob Davis of Atlanta, GA; Archie Davis and wife Missy of Rome, GA; three siblings and three grandchildren.

Her love for the Methodist Church was demonstrated with fundraising and service such as president of UMW.
