Ethel Valeria Blandford Prescott

Ethel Valeria Blandford Prescott passed away on Aprl 27, 2013. Born on Valentine’s Day in Atlanta, GA, she was the daughter of William Clark and Virginia Murray Blandford. She graduated from the Westminster Schools and attended the University of Georgia. As a long-time Atlanta resident, she was a member of the Forward Arts Foundation and enjoyed volunteering.

Ethel was a kind and gentle soul with a passion for life and love for animals. She raised show dogs for many years participating in shows throughout the Southeast. She was well-traveled, having visited many Caribbean locations as well as Asia and Europe including a tour a France via hot-air balloon.

She is survived by her husband, William Duncan Prescott of Saint Simons Island, GA, son, Sinclair “Trip” Frederick of Hickory Bluff, GA, daughter, Helen Frederick of Asheville, NC , one brother, and one grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 1st at 5:00pm at her home on Saint Simons Island.
