

Gene as he was affectionately known was born April 22, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey the son of the late Eugene Otto Genz Sr. and the late Anne Margaret Argo. He was also preceded in by a son, Fredrick Scott Genz and his late wife and mother of his children, Christine Genz Copeland.
Gene resided in Brunswick all of his life except for the last five years when he moved to Savannah to live with his daughter. He was of the Methodist Faith and graduated with the class of 1965 at Glynn Academy. After graduating he worked with the Brunswick Fire Department and Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Gene then gained employment and later retired with King and Prince Seafood Company.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughter and son-in-law, Vickie and Michael Martin of Savannah, GA; two grandchildren, Alesha and Ryan Martin; one stepdaughter, Suzanne Stewart, of Savannah, GA.
Gene loved sports and was an avid Georgia Bulldog Fan. He not only enjoyed football but loved baseball as well. The Atlanta Braves was his favorite team. Gene also enjoyed playing golf, billiards, and bowling when he was younger.
A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 2pm at Palmetto Cemetery. Everyone is cordially invited to join the family in celebrating a life well lived.
