Mrs. Evalyn Evie Johns Johns Jones

Mrs. Evalyn Johns Jones, age 68, of Brunswick passed away Wednesday April 7, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Jones was born October 7, 1941 in Brunswick to the late Dr. Charles Johns & Lillie Maie Taylor Johns. Evalyn graduated from Glynn Academy and was a member of the Pirates of the Spanish Main. She was a member of Christian Renewal Church for 35 years where she served as Church Hostess for several years, as well as serving in the Extended Hands and Operation Blessing Ministries. She worked for 21 years as Office Manager for pediatrician Richard Fix in Brunswick and for the last several years served on Glynn County's Juvenile Citizen's Review Panel. Evalyn was preceded in death by her sisters, June Jones & Jo Anne Kaufman.

Mrs. Jones is survived by her husband of 49 years, Bill Jones, of Brunswick; sons and daughters-in-law, Jon & Debra Jones of Ellijay, Ga; Chuck & Terri Jones of Brunswick; 4 grandchildren; Landen (Haila) Jones and Summer (Daniel) Villela of Brunswick, Tori Jones and Taylor Jones of Ellijay; 3 great grandchildren Tait Jones, Lillie Jones and Chandler Villela of Brunswick. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 10, 2010 at 10:00 am at Christian Renewal Church in Brunswick with the Rev. Bill Ligon officiating. Pallbearers will be Jake Bouis, Virgil Hinson, Don Jones, Landen Jones, Taylor Jones, Gary Long, Tom Scott and Daniel Villela. Interment will be in the Chapel Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home Friday April 9, from 6 to 8 pm.
