Floyd O. Goodyear

He was born in Brunswick to the late Earl Goodyear and Pearl McCumbers. He was in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. He also worked for Hercules for 29 years. He loved to race homing pigeons and that’s why he was nicknamed Pigeon at his job at Hercules.

He is preceded in death, by his loving wife of 51 years, Elaine. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Danny Goodyear, Terry McCumbers, David McCumbers and sister Judy Turner.

He is survived by his son Chad (Jodie) and grandson Callen Goodyear. And his twin daughter’s Vicky Goodyear and Audrey Goodyear Callaway and grandsons Trevor & Blake Callaway. Also survived by his sisters, Betty Black (Gerald), Debbie Groover and his brothers Glenn McCumbers, Randy McCumbers and Darrell McCumbers.

Pallbearers will be Chad Goodyear, James Brooks, Ad Poppell, Bill Burgstiner, Clifford Morgan, Gerald Dukes, Trevor Callaway and Blake Callaway.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Sunday at Edo Miller Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held 11:00am Monday at Golden Isles Church of God. Burial with military honors to follow in Chapel Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles.

The family would like to thank Vanessa Thomas (his nurse) and Miriam Cristobal (his nurse under hospice care). They really took good care of him.
