

Fran went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 6, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 56 years-Francis (Frank) Cerrato and her daughter Alixandra Cerrato Peterson (Don), fur baby-Brighty, her mother-Frances “Sis” Bright Adamson, her sister-Joan Adamson Lewis (Walt Koran), brothers-D. C. “Skip” Adamson, (Janet), all of Glynn County, and Kenneth O. Adamson (Mary Kay) of Glendora, CA, her sister-in-law, Stephanie Perger and brother-in-law Anthony Cerrato. Her grandchildren-Sean Fabie, Tyler Fabie, Lauren Peterson, Mallory Peterson, great-grandson-Jayden Higgins, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Douglas C. Adamson, and sister-in-law Sandra Cerrato.
Fran was born on December 7, 1945, in Brunswick, Georgia to Douglas Carlton and Frances Bright Adamson. Growing up in a Navy family, she lived in St. Simons Island, GA, Lakehurst, NJ, Key West, FL, Alexandria, VA, and La Mesa, CA, where she graduated from Helix High School. The family then returned to the Golden Isles in 1963 and settled on Jekyll Island. As an adventurous young adult, Fran began her career as a “stewardess” with Delta Airlines, which lead her to a chance meeting with her future husband, Air Force pilot, Capt. Frank Cerrato, at Miami Dade International Airport. Frances (Fran) and Francis (Frank) were married on November 9, 1968, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Brunswick, GA. After a 3 yr. stint in Caribou, ME, they returned to make their home on Jekyll Island with their infant daughter Ali. Fran spent over 30 years as a REALTOR with Brunswick-Golden Isles Board of REALTORS, serving as President of the Board in 2000.
Fran was a Partner at The Chapel where she served on the Friends of Jekyll Island Board and was a member of the Sand Dollar Club, the Paupers Club, and the Jekyll Island Ladies League of Golfers.
Fran had an infectious laugh and is described by her family and friends as being joyful, positive, classy, generous and supportive, she will be greatly missed by all who were privileged to know her.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Pastor Jay Hansen, will be held on Friday, November 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at The Chapel, 114 Harris Farm Road, Brunswick, GA 31520 with a reception immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Chapel or a charity of the donor’s choice. Edo Miller will be in charge of arrangements.
