

Frances Victoria Jones, “The #1 Pirate Fan” was called home 6:30 PM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 after a brief illness. Born in Brunswick, November 12, 1996, she attended FACES, Golden Isles Elementary, Sterling Elementary, Jane Macon Middle School and Graduated from Brunswick High School in 2016.
Known as a social butterfly, her contagious smile and personality lit up every room and touched every heart she came in contact with. Early academic successes included multiple golden rule awards.
Her dedicated support for BHS Pirate Athletics earned her the nickname “The #1 Pirate Fan”. Pregame hugs, loud cheers and post-game celebration of the “W” inspired many coaches, fans and players.
Her proudest moment was the role of a good luck charm to Coach Chris Turner helping him bring home the 2015 State Basketball Championship. She was also instrumental in several region and city championships.
Her support never wavered through 4 football coaches; Coach Floyd, Harold, Pender and now Coach Grady. Her pride shines while showing off multiple city championship trophies and championship belt. Many football players adopted her support and returned the love by escorting her to BHS’s annual Access Prom. Notable dates included Davis Hoyt, Cory Dixon, Jackson Gibbs (twice), Seth Neugebauer, Brett Hall and AJ Kirkland.
More recently, she twice attended the “Night to Shine” prom with date Don Davis. Other activities include Vice President of the Key Club, 2014 Homecoming Princess and hostess of several postseason BHS Golf team banquets. Frances was also instrumental to creating the Brunswick High Pirate Foundation. Serving as Honorary Vice President for Public Affairs, she presided over presentation of 38 scholarship awards to deserving Pirate Seniors.
A rabid UGA Dawg Fan, she attended many games and had an extensive collection of jerseys most favorite of all is local hero and dear friend Warren McClendon, Jr.
Frances also loved music; spending time on the water, time with family, and group time with Ms. Thomas and friends.
Frances is survived by her loving sister Jessica Jones of Bradenton Florida; Mother, Trudy Blake (stepdad Dean) Yulee, Florida along with three sisters, Kelly Freeman, Jeni Griffin, Mandy Conner and brother Dallas Blake; Dad, Robert Jones, Jr. (stepmom Ruby), Grandmother (Grandma) Charlotte Brown, Grandfather (Papa) J. Robert Jones, Sr. all of Brunswick, Ga. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her “Grandpa”, Gerald O. Brown and “Meme” Glenda S. Jones.
Her Christian growth began at College Place Methodist Church and more recently First Baptist Church where she was a budding young choir star thanks to mentors Mark & Crystal Clay, Josh & Amy Sullins and most especially Mary Gibbs and Ricky Stewart.
Visitation will be Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2022 at First Baptist Church with Pastor Chris Winford officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be coaches and members of the BHS Basketball teams and Football team.
To honor Frances’ memory, attendees are invited to proudly wear the Blue and Gold of her beloved Brunswick High or the red and black of her UGA Bulldogs.
