

Freeman Clair Boltz, 92, of Brunswick, Georgia passed away Monday the 26th of November 2012 at the Hospice of the Golden Isles. A graveside service will be conducted with military honors at 10:30 AM Friday the 30th of November 2012 in the Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, Florida, with Elder Russell Gladding officiating. Interment will follow the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Sims, Tommy Simison, and Jimi Todd.
Born October 8, 1920 in Palmyra, Pennsylvania to the late Warren W. Boltz, Sr. and Eva Rhoad Boltz, Mr. Boltz was a former resident of Warner Robins, Georgia and had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 10 years. He graduated from Hershey Pennsylvania High School and served in the 83rd Thunderbolt Division, United States Army, during the WWII Era, receiving many commendations including The Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five Bronze Stars, and a World War II Victory Ribbon. The 83rd Thunderbolts were also responsible for liberating the Langenstein concentration camp. Mr. Boltz retired from the Civil Service and was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the VFW and the American Legion. He was also an avid walker .
In addition to his parents Mr. Boltz is preceded in death by his wife Joyce A. Boltz, a sister Ester and two brothers Wayne Boltz, and Warren Boltz, Jr.
Survivors include Mr. Boltz’s three daughters, Sandy Simison of Mobile, AL, Jodi Todd of Perry, GA and Stephanie Sims and husband Ron of Brunswick, four grandchildren, Tommy Simison, Jimi Todd, Stasia Sims, and Jessie Horne, a great grandchild, Kylie Sims, and many other relatives.
Family will receive friends Thursday evening the 29th of November 2012 from 6 P - 8 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
