George Ivey Edwards, Jr., 77, passed away on February 13, 2026. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he also lived in Brunswick and Midway, Georgia.
George proudly served four years in the United States Air Force after graduating in 1968. He later owned and operated Edwards Muffler Shop, retiring after 10 years. Following retirement, he owned and operated Edwards Bait Shop, combining his love of the outdoors with serving his community.
An avid outdoorsman, George enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping. Though quiet and reserved, he especially enjoyed talking about the outdoors and spending time with his family. He was devoted to his wife of 55½ years and took great pride in his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Edwards; daughter, Sherri Edwards (Efrain); son, Stephen A. Edwards; grandchildren, Stephen R. Edwards, Stephanie Edwards, Kristen Edwards, Robbie Edwards, Chrissy Brown, Corbin Edwards, and Mylee Ricketson; great-grandchildren, Adeline Edwards and Darla Brown; brother, Thomas Edwards (Nolene); and his beloved dog, Betsy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Edwards; and his brothers, Theodore “Ted” Edwards, Paul Edwards, and Keith Edwards.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m.
