

G.A. Treadaway, 69, of Brunswick, GA died on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Southeast Georgia Health System Brunswick Campus after a short illness.
G.A. was born on February 22, 1945, to Warren and Shirley Milleson in Noel, MO. She grew up in Pittsburg, KS, graduating from Pittsburg State University. She was married to a career Army officer and lived in several areas in the United States, plus Germany and Panama. She lived in Laurel, MD, from 1983 until 2005. She retired from the National Education Association in 2005 and moved to Brunswick, GA, with her husband the same year.
She enjoyed many artistic activities especially quilting and knitting which allowed her to express her enormous creativity. She had a close circle of knitting friends who met a couple of times a month for conversation and knitting. She was also a member of several book clubs at Hatties Books in Brunswick. She most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Katie and Jack. She also loved her two pug dogs, Penny and Raven.
G.A. is survived by her husband of 34 years, James A. “Alex” Treadaway of Brunswick; her daughter Jessica Fox of Gaithersburg, MD; her daughter Jennifer Breslin of Brunswick, GA; her grandchildren Katie and Jack Breslin of Brunswick, GA; her parents Warren and Shirley Milleson of Brunswick, GA; plus step children and many aunts and cousins across the country.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
G.A. was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick, GA, where a memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at St. Marks’s Episcopal Church in Brunswick with Rev. Alan M. Akridge officiating, Inurnment at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
