Dear Alison,

I'm sorry for being so late, but I just learned of Jerry's passing in the recent DePauw.  I was a Delta Chi at DePauw and also one who sat on the steps of the "old" Belmont store (with the National across the street)waiting for my father to get off the train at the 107th Street station.

I started my working years  in the Gary/Hammond area, calling on some of the finest independent supermarkets in the country.  Jerry covered some of the same area....probably as a supervisor...but though we worked for different companies, he lit the way for me to know the customers and start to learn the business.  He was astonishingly helpful and I have carried much of what I learned from him for decades and decades and to this day.  

I could never repay him for all he did for me.

So, it's a long timespan I've let go by, but I thought it at least appropriate to let you know the lessons we learned for Jerry keep on going and going and with them remembrances of a lot of fun, fun and wonderful times.

My brother, Dave, was also a DX and a very good friend of Jerry's and I know he sends his condolences, but he is quite ill himself and unable to do so.

 We were so sorry to miss Jerry's memeprial service but we are in N.Y in the Adirondack Mountains at our camp. We enjoyed knowing jerry at church.

Alison please accept our heartfelt condolences as you celebrate the wonderful life of Mr. Jerry Schueneman.  Jerry was a very wise man that always gave good advice.  He was very instrumental in me choosing Westminster for my boys and I am very thankful to him for that.

I was very sad to learn of Jerry's passing this morning. Jerry was a dear friend and I have missed his presence at Trinity since you all moved to St. Simons.  Jerry was loved and respected by those who knew him. His love of this country and his engaging personality was infectious!  While I know the weeks and months ahead will be challenging, I hope that the wonderful memories of Jerry and the love of family and friends will comfort you.  We have lost a great patriot and friend!
