My memory might be a bit clouded, but here goes. Donald Ray and I were very good friends and frat brothers at Ga. Tech and one day, at of the blue, he says "Come to Brunswick with me; I am going to get married." I said okay and off we went in his car. I'm not certain if this was the trip to Brunswick in the fog with DR driving with his head out the window following the white stripe. We got to Brunswick and DR went and married Glatis. His Mom and Dad were at the river and the first night I slept in their bed and DR and Glatis were in one of the twin beds. His brother Johnny came home and immediately spun around and went off somewhere for the evening. A month or two later, Glatis and Donald Ray were in a small apartment in Atlanta and Donna was on her way. I also remember whenever DR was out too late or had a bit to drink, he would bring me home with him to ease any situation that might be forthcoming with Glatis. I, quite often, slept on the Thomas couch. Donna was born in Atlanta and I was the honorary Godfather. I married Angela a few years later and we stopped in Brunswick on our honeymoon. We stayed on Jekyll Island in the just opened Sam Snead Buccaneer hotel and spent a few days there with Glatis and Donald Ray. We were great friends.

We are so very sorry to hear this sad news! Glatis was always so nice to me when I was younger. I remember babysitting for Donna and Doug and going to visit her family. She was a real role model for a teenager! I always thought she was such a beautiful lady. We will be praying for the family! I know she will be missed by all that had the privilege of knowing her. I know I will surely miss her sweet smile and kind spirit.
