

Glynda Kaye Gowen, 39, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at her residence. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Bay Harbour Church of God, with Rev. John P. Harris officiating. Inurnment will follow at Traders Hill Cemetery in Folkston, Georgia. Serving active pallbearers are Bart Bunkley, Tripp Casey, and Austin Gowen. Serving honorary pallbearers are Delores Sizemore, Genell Sellers, Mary Quigley, James and Joey Scott, Dr. Matt Certain, and the Bay Harbour Church of God Young Adult Sunday School Class.
Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, September 8. 2016 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
Glynda was a lifelong native of Brunswick, Ga., born October 5, 1976, daughter of the late Kenneth A. Gowen, and Sharron B. Gowen. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School, and was employed by the Georgia Times Union, and the Brunswick News as a paper carrier.
Glynda was a member of the Glynn County Explorers, Bay Harbour Church of God, and the Bay Harbour Young Adult Sunday School Class.
Glynda loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and witnessing through her church. She love all sorts of music, and was an avid race car fan.
In addition to Glynda’s father she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Morris P. and Julie I. Gowen, and maternal grandparents Robert B; N. Ruth; and Clara G. Bullock.
Survivors includes Glynda’s mother Sharron B. Gowen; brother Michael Gowen; and a nephew Austin Gowen all of Brunswick, GA; Glynda also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and other family members.
