A native of San Rafel, California, Mr. Spurlock had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 40 years. He was born March 21, 1941 to the late Gordon Glen Spurlock, SR. and the late Windfred Parker Spurlock.
Mr. Spurlock was the owner operator of Gordon’s Masonic Rings. He had also retired from the United States Navy as Chief after 20 years of service. Mr. Spurlock was a member of the Brunswick Masonic Lodge F&AM #717. He was also a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Brunswick, Georgia. Mr. Spurlock enjoyed spending time with his family, motorcycling, and marketing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Paul Spurlock, and sister Nancy Windmyer.
Mr. Spurlock is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Marjorie Williams Spurlock; Daughters Sersey Young (James) of Tallahassee, FL and Serena Fryar (Tony) of Brunswick, Georgia; Son Gordon Glen Spurlock, III of Brunswick, GA; Grandchildren Tyler Mistisshen (Alisha) of Ohio, Nichols Mistisshen (Cathy) of Jacksonville, FL, Athena Marie Tindall of Brunswick, GA, Alex Fryar of Brunswick, GA, and Austin Fryar(Georgia) of Brunswick, GA; Sister Glenda Hicks of South Carolina; 10 Great- Grandchildren and several other family members.
A visitation will be held 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave., in Brunswick.
Funeral services is to be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 24, 2019 at United Pentecostal Church, 5608 New Jesup Highway in Brunswick, where Reverend Ray Worley is to officiate. Burial will follow the service with military honors at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Tony Fryar, Alex Fryar, Austin Fryar, David McCumbers, James Young, and Tony Williams.
