Herschel Vaughn Pope III

Vaughn was born July 30, 1952 in Macon, Georgia the son of the late Herschel Vaughn Pope Jr. and the late Elizabeth Burkhalter Pope. He was also preceded in death by his late wife, Sonja Westberry Pope; also a brother, Gary Pope.

Vaughn lived most of his life in Brunswick and was a graduate of Glynn Academy. He was a Master Carpenter and was self-employed until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Elizabeth Crapse of Guyton, GA, Michelle Pope of Brunswick, GA, and Tracie Strauch of Douglas, GA; one sister, Gail Gresham (Steve) of Loganville, GA. Ten precious grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Vaughn loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was also an avid NASCAR and football fan. He loved his Georgia Bulldogs. He will be missed by his loved ones and friends. His family will have many fond memories to cherish for years to come.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 17, 2019 in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Cordle officiating. A catered reception will follow the service.
