Ina Hawkins, 92, of Brunswick, departed this life Monday, March 19, 2018 at SGHS Glynn. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 22, 2018 in Palmetto Cemetery with Rev. Jim Crandall officiating.
Born October 3, 1925 in Baxley, Georgia to the late Walter and Ira Bell R. White, she was a welder in The Brunswick Shipyards and retired as a sales associate from JC Penney. Mrs. Hawkins had been a resident of Glynn County since 1944 and was a member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, as well as cooking and caring for her feline companions. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lewis Hawkins, as well as several siblings.
Survivors include two children, Herman Hawkins and Dorothy Hawkins both of Brunswick, two grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, March 21, 2018 from 6PM until 8PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
