

Born January 6, 1942, in Adairville, KY, Ina's family relocated to Tullahoma, TN, while she was still a baby. She was the daughter of a preacher and a graduate of Tullahoma High, where she was voted "Friendliest" of her senior class. After graduation, she worked various small jobs until landing a transcriptionist position for Dr. Rowls, a position she held till marriage. June 19, 1965, she married William L. Sonnenthal and started a family two years later. In 1982, Bill accepted an engineering position in Woodbine and the family moved to Brunswick. Ina accepted a position as an office supervisor at American General Insurance Company and held the position until retirement.
In her spare time, Ina enjoyed reading, walking, cooking, working in the yard, and working at the church food bank. Spending time with her family gave her the greatest pleasure. She never met a stranger, loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She was an active member of Golden Isles Church of God and New Life Sanctuary.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett J and Elsie B. Allen, and two brothers-in-law, Edward D. Sonnenthal and Mike Burnett.
She is survived by William L. Sonnenthal, Sr. (Bill), her husband of almost 60 years; two sons, William L Sonnenthal, Jr of Cumming, GA, and Michael A Sonnenthal of Brunswick, GA: four siblings, W. L. Allen of Cookeville, TN; Edwin Allen (Ann) of Murfreesboro, TN; Freida Allen of Fredericktown, MO; Danny Allen (Barbara) of Monterey, TN; two sisters-in-law Dianne Sonnenthal of Jacksonville, FL; and Elly Burnett of CA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 7, from 6-8 PM at Edo Miller Funeral Home, 3321 Glynn Ave, Brunswick, GA.
The funeral will be held at Kilgore Funeral Home (215 Mitchell Blvd, Tullahoma, TN) at 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 15, with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens (4758 Manchester Hwy, Tullahoma, TN).
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Glynn Co Animal Shelter, or Precious Pound Pups.
