James Robert “Bob” Chaney Sr., 88, passed away peacefully on July 06, 2024. Bob, known for his kindness and dedication to his family, lived a full and rich life. A graduate of the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, he excelled in both academics and athletics. He was a proud recipient of both baseball and basketball scholarships, a testament to his talent and hard work.
Bob’s athletic journey began at Baker High School, where he was a star basketball player. His remarkable skills on the court led him to coaching, and earned him recognition and admiration from teammates, coaches, and fans alike.
Bob was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Boni Ray. Their marriage was a testament to love, partnership, and shared dreams. Together, they created countless memories and a legacy of love that will endure.
Bob touched many lives with his generous spirit and warm heart. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his wife Boni Ray, Bob is survived by his children, Jay Chaney Jr., Jan Chaney Rabe and Michelle Seaborn Wood, five grandchildren, Julia Badgett, Jarred Rabe, Jefferson Rabe, Madeline Seaborn and Meredith Seaborn, and nine beautiful great grandchildren, along with many friends and extended family members who will cherish his memory forever.
