Mr James was a good man in every aspect of life.  I had the pleasure of woring with him at the transportation yard. He will dearly be missed.  RIP  Mr James.    Gail Rash Moody

Our prayers are with the family especially our best friends Taryn and Steve who lost a sweet and dear man whom they loved dearly.

I have very fond memories of Uncle James but I guess my favorite would be when we would be at Granny's for the summer and Uncle James would come in to see her too. I remember him getting his golf clubs out and hitting the balls across the road into the cow pasture. His big thing would be to see if he could hit one of those cows with his golf balls. Of course this was the story he would tell us but we soon learned that he was not aiming
for the cows he just wanted us to watch him golf. 
Uncle James you will be missed by many but we know that you are rejoicing with your brothers and sister on those streets of gold. We will always love you.

Well James was my brother in law for over 50 years, And I dearly loved him, his smile and he liked to joke with my husband Raymond his brother, We have lost all of this family ,But He is in the arms of God And with all his family, Loved you James ,RIP

I regret that I never knew my Uncle James as some did. Daddy was in the Air Force, & it seemed we just never crossed paths as frequently as we should have when I was growing up. From the time I did spend with him, I remember him as always having a smile on his face and laughter in his heart. He was daddy's last brother to 'go home' and I can't help but think of them all together, singing praises to our Lord and basking in His presence. What a great reunion! "Well done thou good and faithful servant; enter in to the joy of our Lord." Much love to you Uncle James. Until we meet again...

Here is the picture of our sweetest Uncle James that we took while enjoying one of our many fishing adventures together. He loved his Lord first and foremost and thanked Him robustly daily for his time spent on this earth spreading His word. No more genuine man could endure the trials and tribulations that our Uncle experienced with such dignity and strength and without a word of complaint or self pity. We remember his stories of being able to jump fences while on his crutches after his year long stay at Vanderbilt Hospital just to keep up with his brothers while getting into some sort of silly mischief laughing all the way to the escape! His daddy, brother's and him were masters of spontaneous fun while keeping a close eye on the next victim of their pranks. There was never a moment of forgetfulness when he remembered the strict hand of his Mammy with Bible in hand if any of them ever dared to cross that line but knew that willow switch was what they needed if she thought it so. And, their Momma kept them in line when no one else even dared as she always had the full respect of her children and was only raising them with more love than dissent. He was an enormous lover of life and spread that joy to whomever would accept his contagious personality. Truly a man of selfless love who always put himself at the bottom rung of the ladder of living when it came to protecting his flock of family and friends. No greater man could have loved his children, family, and friends as he did and only wanted to express that to whomever was open to that gift. It is an immense loss to those of you who never accepted that, and, to those of us who did, it was a glorious gift from God given without any reservations. His undying love of his pooches, Jacque & JP were equally met with a heart of devotion only a companion such as they could share unconditionally.  He truly brought such excitement and fun to our lives and never, ever failed to lift our spirits whatever the situation. Every Christmas Eve when we called to sing a birthday wish/Christams wish to him it was never met without total joy and happiness that he was alive for one more day on this earth and that we had remembered him. How could we have not?! Our words of advice from him was always "You can't be grateful and depressed at the same time so always be grateful and you'll never be depressed!" And, whenever I called him I always said "Is this the best looking man east of the Mississippi," he would always respond, "Right on, but I am only second to Steve!" Never to be first in his heart for anything but always to be first to give his total love to all of us he surrounded. We will miss him beyond his dreams and cherish eternally the time we spent laughing, crying, and sharing our love for the Lord, life and the moments we spent with him.
