Jamie was born November 30th, 1953 in Brunswick, Georgia the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. James D. Gould III. He was a lifelong resident of Brunswick and St. Simons Island. Jamie is survived by his wife, Mae Wayne Gould; and his Daughter, Dixie Quin Gould; a brother Cannon Young Gould Sr and his wife Beth. Two Nieces and a nephew also survive, Rebecca Gould Strothers, Summer Lauralynn Gould, and Cannon Young Gould Jr.
Jamie grew up on Saint Simons Island and was a 1972 graduate of Glynn Academy. He was also, a graduate of Brunswick Junior College. He continued his education studying architecture at Southern Tech in Marietta Georgia. After college, he turned his passion of woodworking into a career in carpentry. Becoming a master carpenter leaving behind a legacy of fine wood work in many of the homes in the Golden Isles. Jamie was also an avid photographer and outdoorsman. He spent a lot of time hiking and photographing the southeast, The Appalachian Mountains being a favorite subject. He was a student of history and became involved with the living history community. He also participated in multiple historical documentaries used by the park service.
There will be a visitation at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral home on Thursday, November 3rd from 6PM until 8PM. A graveside service will be held Friday, November 4th at 2 PM at Christ Church Frederica on Saint Simons Island with Father Tom Purdy officiating.
Honorary Pallbearers are A.J. Berry, Chuck Boyer, Jimmy Boyer, Dr. Hal Crowe, Dan Denmark, Buzzy Ramsey, Robin Vaughn, and Don McWaters.
