Jim was a native of Valdosta, Georgia and had been a resident of Brantley for the past 10 years, coming from Brunswick. He attended Glynn Academy.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John Owen and Francis Morris Horton and two brothers, Owen Horton and Bill Sanders.
Survivors are a son, Justin Brown (Jennie) of Stapleton, Ala., grandson, Mason Brown and a granddaughter, Georgia Brown both of Stapleton, AL., a brother, Larry Horton of St. Simons Island, and a special friend, Kaleb Cruz of Brantley County, Ga. and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Monday 5.7, 2012 in the Chapel of the Edo Miller and Sons Funeral w with Rev. Darrell Joiner officiating.
The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home one hour before services.
