

Jane Mooers Farmer, a resident of Townsend, Ga., passed away Monday, the 9th of October 2017 under the care of Georgia Hospice Care at the age 90. Mrs. Farmer was born in Richmond, Va., the 12th of August 1927, daughter of the late Willard Alden Mooers, and the late Ruth McDowell Mooers.
Mrs. Farmer attended the RPI College in Richmond Virginia. She started her career in retail sales. Later in her career she became an historical researcher and Docent which she loved so dearly. Her historical work included St. Simons Island, Sapelo Island, and Christ Church Frederica. She was a member of Christ Church Frederica, and attended St. Andrews Episcopal Church.
Those who knew and loved Mrs. Farmer will remember her for the lovely research that she had done as a Historian, and the kindness she showed to all. She enjoyed gardening, boating, and traveling. Mrs. Farmer leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all.
In addition to Mrs. Farmer’s parents she is preceded in death by her husband Warden G. Farmer; daughter Deborah Alden Luci; and a sister Charlotte Mooers Stevens.
Survivors include her grandson Zachary Edward Alden Luci; two nephews Randolph Mooers Stevens and Paul Charles Farmer; a niece Virginia Stevens Purcell; and several other extended family members.
A memorial service is to be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday the 16th of October 2017 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 401 Fort King George Dr. in Darien, where the Reverend Ted Clarkson will officiate. Inurnment will follow the service 2 p.m. at Christ Church Frederica. 6329 Frederica Rd. St. Simons Island, Ga.
