Janice Evon Gibson

Janice Evon Gibson, 69, of Brunswick, Georgia, departed this life Friday, November 7, 2025, at Southeast Georgia Health System (SGHS) Brunswick Campus. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

Born October 27, 1956, in Brunswick to the late Herbert and Janie Lue M. Curry. She was a graduate of Brunswick High School Class of 1974, where she met and fell in love with her husband, Ronald Gibson. They were united in Holy Matrimony in 1985. Together, Ronald and Janice gave life to two beautiful daughters.

She was a Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician at SGHS for 38 plus years. Mrs. Gibson attended Brunswick West Kingdom Hall faithfully with her husband for 15 plus years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, going to the gym, and traveling. She also enjoyed visiting St. Simons Island, especially when live local bands were playing. She rarely missed her daily visits to the nursing home to see and enjoy the company of her cousin, along with other residents of the home, including family and old friends, while making new ones along the way. She never met a stranger, whether it was in a grocery store or a doctor’s office awaiting a visit.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Curry.

Survivors include her husband Ronald Gibson; two daughters, Tisheena (Rondey) Jenkins, & Shanice Gibson, both of Brunswick; a granddaughter, Ariana Jenkins; three brothers, Alvin Curry, Melvin Curry, and Herbert (Maud) Curry; and four sisters, Joyce (Mark) Ryals, Annette (Gregory) Hollis, Tina (Shaun) Lane and Brenda (James) Mitchell.
