

Jean Rogers Grogan Jones, age 83, of Brunswick, died Saturday, March 14, 2015. Jean was a native of Wrightsville, Georgia and graduated from Johnson County High. After graduation she attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College where she played on the tennis team and majored in Accounting. She worked as a Kiting official for Sun Trust Bank until her retirement. After retirement, she worked for a brief period of time as a substitute teacher for Lithonia High School. She moved to St. Simons in 1991 then on to Wilmington Island in 2003 before retiring to Brunswick in 2008. Jean traveled the world twice which enabled her to indulge in her favorite hobby, antiquing. She was of the Episcopal Faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Jalia Rogers; her first husband, Wade James Grogan; her son, James Victor Grogan; two brothers, E.C. Rogers and Ralph Rogers and three sisters, Sue Greene, Mildred Hardin and Estelle Heath.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Michael Sidney Jones of Brunswick; a step-daughter, Beth Ellen Harris (Dave) of Saluda, NC; a step-son, Patrick Flagg Jones (Denise) of Flower Mound, TX; five grandchildren, Tyler and Tana Harris of Saluda and Logan, Lucas and Killen Jones of Flower Mound; a brother-in-law, Jack Jones (Liz) of Brunswick and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, March 20, 2015 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
