
Jeanne Nelson Szabo, 85, of Brunswick, passed away at her residence Saturday, March 10, 2012. Private Cryptside Rites will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 12:00 PM at Brunswick Memorial Park Mausoleum.
She was born in Tampa, FL to the late Arvid Nelson and Josephine Labadie on May 29, 1926. She has been a resident of Brunswick for 30 years and was a self employed artist and an art teacher.
She received Masters Degrees from UCLA and Mills College in California. Her subsequent post graduate studies in New York City were with Raphael Soyer and Frederic Taube.
Jeanne had her own gallery and art studio in Brunswick for over 15 years. Here is where she made her many special and long lasting friendships with her students. Her love of animals and flora are ever present in her works. She was also a Grand Master at bridge, and avid member of ACBL club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey June Smith, and brother, Arvid Nelson.
Survivors include her two sons: Thomas Szabo of New York, NY and Paul Szabo of Mamaroneck, NY.
