

Jerry L. Fender, 79, of Brunswick, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at SGHS in Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Altama Avenue with Willie Walker Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery with Terry Griffis, Kevin Griffis, Cory Guest, Scott Stradtman, Raymon Moody, and Tim Hudson serving as pallbearers.
Born February 4, 1935 in Ware County, Georgia to the late Frank and Mary Kelby Fender, he was a retired millwright from Georgia Pacific. Mr. Fender had been a resident of Glynn County for the past 48 years and was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed gardening. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Lewis.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Dot Fender, a son, Stacy Fender, both of Brunswick, a brother, Jimmy Fender and wife Evelyn of Nahunta, a sister, Jean Griffey of Chattanooga, TN, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, honorary daughter, Winnie Turoski, and special friends Scott Stradtman and Ray Moody.
