Jimmy D. Wilson, 78, formerly of Talladega, AL, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2020 at SGHS in Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, February 17, 2020 in the chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Vincent Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery with Michael Wilson, Willie Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Kevin Williams, Jonah Harris and Johnny Butler serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Wilson was born January 22, 1942 in Talladega, Alabama to the late Frank L. and Bertha Lee P. Wilson. Anyone who knew Jimmy, knows he loved sports, especially football. His favorite team was Alabama Crimson Tide, “Roll Tide”, as he would say. He worked for over 30 years at King and Prince Seafood. He spent his free time watching various football games, hunting cans, and spending time with his children and grandchildren whenever he could. Jimmy was the anchor to his family and will be missed dearly in body and spirit. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Willie Wilson, Richard Wilson, and Malcolm Wilson, and two sisters, Polly Sweat and Bertha Mae Wilson.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years Kathleen Wilson, five daughters Jackie Hinson (Tommy), Lee Johnson (Mike), Shanise Wilson (Kevin), Brandy Wilson and Tyesha Wilson, five sons, Willie Wilson, Kyle Wilson, Michael Wilson (Erica), Jimmy “Bodie” Wilson, and Dalton Wilson (Wanda), two sisters, Christine Medley and Frankie Wilson, a brother, Bert Wilson, grandchildren Kansas, Jessica, Tracy, Kathleen, Victoria, Rebecca, Laura, Katlin, Jayden, Devin, and Makayla. He also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Jimmy was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend.
