Jo Ann Underwood Wheeler

Mrs. Wheeler was a native of Emanuel County, Georgia and had been a resident of Brunswick since 1961. She received her Register Nursing Degree from the University Hospital in Augusta, Ga. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Brunswick.

She loved tennis and fishing.

Mrs. Wheeler was preceded in death by her a granddaughter, Natalie Ruth Shupe, her parents, William and Mattie Underwood and a brother, Claude Underwood.

Survivors are her husband, Dr. George B. Wheeler, III of Brunswick, a son, George B. Wheeler, IV of Brusnwick, two daughters, Donna Shupe (Bobby) of Brunswick and Laurie Bryant (Lee) of Savannah, Ga., grandchildren, Nathan Shupe, Niki Shupe and Shelley Bryant, a brother, Windy Underwood of Swainsboro, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 AM Monday 9/19/11 in the Chapel of the Edo Miler and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. George Herndon officiating.

The family will receive friends in the Funeral Home from 6 to 8 Pm Sunday night. The family request contributions to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brusnwick, Georgia.
