Born January 6, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia to the late Milo W. and Beatrice G. Summers, she was home schooled by the Calvert System which was designed for those who lived where schools were inaccessible. She also attended Sullins College Academy and graduated from The Grier School in Birmingham, PA. In 1951 she graduated from The College of William and Mary. There she was a member of KAO.
Ms. Summers had lived on Sea Island and St. Simons Island since 1952, and was a member of The Golden Isles Duplicate Bridge Club and The Society of Mayflower Descendants in Georgia.
