
J. Noble Arnold, 86, passed away on September 15, 2015 at his residence in Jupiter, FL under the care of TrustBridge Hospice. He was born on December 11, 1929 in Wilson, NC and raised in Durham, NC. In 1952, Noble graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, GA. He served as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His professional career in the Electrical Utility Industry began in 1955 with Westinghouse Electric in Atlanta, GA. In 1957, he moved to St. Petersburg, FL as an electrical manufacturer’s representative forming the J. Noble Arnold Company. In 1963, he opened an office in Miami, FL.
Arnold-Bryant, Inc. was organized in 1966 with his partner “B.J.” Bryant of St. Petersburg, FL; In addition, they formed Arnold-Bryant Sales, Inc. in 1970.
He started Waco Day Manufacturing, Inc. in 1971, a tool and die company making electrical connectors and components in Edgewater, FL.
Upon his retirement in 2005, he and his wife Nancy relocated to St. Simons Island, GA.
Mr. Arnold was an avid golfer most of his life. His interest in horse racing led him to own, race, and breed many thoroughbreds during the late 60’s through the mid 80’s.
Mr. Arnold is preceded in death by his wife Nancy D. Arnold and his daughter Laura A. Short.
He is survived by his daughter, Helen Elizabeth “Lisa” Arnold Franklin; grandson, David Noble Franklin of Tequesta, FL; a sister Camille A. Barry of St. Simons Island; two nephews also survive, D. Michael and Matthew A. Bieger of Atlanta, GA
Services will be held Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 11:00am at Oglethorpe Memorial Gardens on St. Simons Island. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA. www.edomillerandsons.com
