

John George Teltsch was born December 5, 1929, in Prague, Czech Republic to Hélène Schultz Teltsch Szell (George) and Ernst Teltsch. John passed away peacefully with his wife by his side in his home February 7, 2025, at the age of 95.
In his early years, he attended Oberlin College, and Wharton Business School and served two years in the Korean war. He moved from Greenwich, CT to Atlanta, GA in 1965 with his family and became a custom home builder for more than 30 years. He was an avid tennis player, skier, and golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Katharine (Kitsy) Cunningham Teltsch and his three children, Ann T. Derbes (Robert) of Lafayette, LA, John G. Teltsch Jr. (Lisa), of Ridgefield, CT, and Emily T. Compton, (William) of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. John G. Teltsch, III (Gina), Lauren T. Sturges (Michael), Patrick Derbes, Michael Derbes, Zode Compton, Stephen Compton, Andrew Hicks, Megan Hicks, and Molly Hicks. The great grandchildren are James and Luke Sturges and Chloe Teltsch. He was pre-deceased by his children, Maria C. Teltsch and Katharine T. Hicks.
Service will be at St. Williams Catholic Church, 2300 Frederica Road, St. Simons Island, GA at 11am on February 12, 2025.
