

Johnny, as family and friends called him, was a native of Kennesaw, GA.
Johnny earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Safety Engineering and was a Certified Safety Professional. He attended Georgia Tech for 2 years, Atlanta Law School and finally joined the United States Coast Guard serving as an Engineman (EN).
He loved to fish, but was active in baseball, football and basketball, coaching Little League teams, as his children grew.
Johnny retired from CNA (formally Continental Insurance Company) as Loss Control Manager, Charlotte, N.C. office, servicing 30+ years; and Regional Reporting, Quality Control for several years before fully retiring. He and his wife, Dale, moved to Coastal Georgia in 2004.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years Dale Bloodworth Wilson, son: John Keith Wilson (Lisah); Daughters: Edith Lanell Riker (Dan), Kellie Clarissa Wilson, Katie Lisa Wilson. Sisters: Betty Jo, Emma Lou Price (David), Reva Castleberry (Mike). Brother: George Wilson (Karen), 10 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Johnny was a member of South Newport Baptist Church. He loved singing in the choir and worship team.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at South Newport Baptist Church. Visitation 10 – 11 am. Service 11 am with lunch following. Interment 3:00 pm Veteran Memorial Park, Glennville, Ga.
