Joseph Wayne Griffis

Joseph Wayne Griffis, age 29, of Brunswick, died Sunday, July 20, 2014, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Joey was a lifelong resident of Brunswick. He enjoyed spending time with his sons, fishing, hunting, riding 4 wheelers and working on cars. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph “Sonny” Riley Griffis and George and Jane Seeley and an uncle, Bobby Seeley.

He is survived by three sons, Jacob Riley Griffis, Landon Wayne Griffis and Kaleb Hunter Griffis; his father, Randall Wayne Griffis; his mother, Gina Deloris Goss; a brother, Frank Seeley Bessent; a sister, Leslie Sarro Blount; two nieces, Kenzie Marie White and Braelyn Michelle Sarro; a nephew, Aayden Scott O’Neal; grandmother, Joyce Sanders Griffis; two aunts; Dianne Cramer (Rusty) and Fran Bessent (Mike); and two cousins, Candace Megan Prescott and Caitlin Amanda Prescott.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Golden Isles Church of God with Pastor Ray Dawson officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenny Griffis, Jr., Zach Lewis, Roy Brockington, Josh Thrower, John Medlock, Josh Knowles, Nathan Boudreaux and Zack Teston.
