Joyce F. Bliss

She was a native of Worth County, GA. She was a member of Blythe Island Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was a secretary at the Board of Education where she retired. Joyce was an avid reader, enjoyed camping, and absolutely loved cruising. One of her favorite things to do was play cards with her friends.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Bliss; parents, Fred and Agnes Ford; a sister, Betty Amick; two brother in laws, Gary Amick and Don Archinal.

She is survived by a daughter, Avis Bliss Carline of Brunswick, GA; daughter, Sharon Bliss Deal of Aiken, SC; Son, Michael (Audrey) Bruce Bliss of Honea Path, SC; and a daughter, Brenda (Randy) Bliss Horne of Pickens, SC; sisters, Barbara Archinal and Anita Mallory (Shirl); brother, Bill Ford; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a catered reception immediately following the services. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family requests any flowers sent to be potted plants as they wish to plant them in her honor. If any memorial contributions wish to be made, please make them to the American Cancer Society.
