

Joyce was born in Buffalo, New York to parents Robert and Marie Treat in 1935.
Joyce graduated from South Park High School and attended John Brown University and University of Buffalo. After relocating to St. Simons Island, Georgia, she was a volunteer to S.E. Hospital of Brunswick in the ER for many years and volunteered with the Navy League to U.S., after the death of her husband Neal G. Gale, she moved to The Villages in Florida where she volunteered again with Busy Hands, Happy Hearts to deliver handmade clothes to delivery rooms at Leesburg and Ocala Hospital as well as Winnie Palmer Hospital in Orlando.
She was active in the DAR in Clearwater Beach and Colonial Dames of 17th Century where she was Chaplain for many years. She was an avid reader and loved to share her books. Joyce was a devoted Buffalo Bills fan and never stopped wishing for a Super Bowl win.
She is predeceased by her parents and brother Robert C. Treat and sister-in-law Connie Treat and their son Robert Treat and daughter Lauren Treat, her stepson Neal Gale Jr. Also predeceased by husband James A. Moynihan, Neal G. Gale and Robert "Ollie" O'Toole.
She leaves behind beloved stepdaughter Debbie Gale Paulk and husband Bill and grandson Lamar (Lad) Davis, his wife Melissa and her son Jackson Campbell of Georgia. She also leaves behind sisters Janet Treat Chabucos of The Villages and Judy Treat Benson and husband Raymond Benson of Deer Trail, Colorado. And her dear friend of 54 years Mary Jones, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Her quick wit and her love for parties will be greatly missed.
A graveside service will be at Palmetto Cemetery in Brunswick, Georgia on August 14, 2026 @10:00am.
