She grew up in Winston-Salem where she graduated from Reynolds High School. She continued her education at Duke University where she graduated with a degree in Mathematics. While at Duke, she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority.
After graduating from Duke, Judy moved to Atlanta where she worked for several years at Trust Company of Georgia Bank later known as SunTrust Bank. While working at Trust Company of Georgia, she met the love of her life Claude Henry Booker, Jr., to whom she was married for almost 40 years.
After spending several years in Atlanta, Judy and Claude moved to Augusta and eventually to Sea Island where they resided for more than 25 years. While living at Sea Island, Judy was a very active member of the Saint Simons Presbyterian Church.
Judy grew up loving golf because of her father, who is in the athletic Hall of Fame at Duke for golf, but her love of the game became even stronger after marrying Claude. Judy and Claude were very active in Southern Seniors and the United States Seniors Golf Associations. She and Claude traveled the world on golf outings, including a wonderful tour of England, Scotland, and Ireland.
She is predeceased by her parents Cliff and Pinkie Perry, her husband Claude Booker, her brother Clifford Webster Perry, Jr (Cliff), her sister Elizabeth Perry Sommerkamp (Betsy), and a nephew Kenneth Paul Sommerkamp, Jr. (Kenny).
She is survived by her sister-in-law Elizabeth Cox Perry (Buff) and brother-in-law Kenneth Paul Sommerkamp (wife Susan), all of Winston-Salem, step-sons Stephen Timothy Booker of Greensboro, Georgia, and Dr. David Lee Booker (wife Patty) of Blairsville, Georgia, and step-daughter Sydney Catherine Booker of Grovetown, Georgia.
