Kathleen Sue “Kathie” Cartwright, 74, of St. Simons Island, Georgia, passed away peacefully at her home on July 13, 2026. She was born on June 1, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Clinton B. Murry and Betty L. Murry (Green).
Kathie graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in Overland Park, Kansas. She built a creative and successful career as a self-employed interior designer, a profession she continued until moving to Georgia in 2015. After relocating, she earned her real estate agent’s license and later her real estate broker’s license, bringing the same energy, style, and commitment to helping others find homes.
Kathie was known as smart, witty, passionate, committed, straightforward, proud, vibrant, and energetic. She had a lifelong passion for fitness and earned her Certified Personal Trainer designation in March 1996. She operated a Jazzercise Center and conducted private training sessions for clients. She'll be remembered for her infectious laugh, love of animals, and zeal for the Christian ministry. She loved being outdoors, tending to her plants, riding her bicycle, and walking on the beach with her husband and best friend, Earl.
Above all, Kathie cherished time with her family and friends. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother, and a caring friend. Her warmth, determination, humor, and lively spirit touched those who knew her and will be remembered with deep affection.
Kathie is survived by her husband of 29 years, Earl H. Cartwright, Jr., of St. Simons Island, Georgia; her children, Clinton P. Anchors of Lawrence, Kansas, Traci L. Anchors of Martinez, California, Patrick K. Anchors of Phoenix, Arizona, and Patrick H. Anchors the father of her children; and her stepchildren, Bridget Herman (Antonio) of Leavenworth, Kansas, Brynn Thompson of Valley Center, Kansas, and Rachel Malette of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Anchors; her step grandchildren, Ashlie and Karlie; her sisters, Cheri Effertz (Jim) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Rhonda L.
