Mr. Boone, a lifelong resident of Brunswick, recently passed away following a brief illness. He was an entrepreneur, who had the privilege of working for and with his father most of his adult life. He was an avid lover of sports who enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. He began his golfing journey at the Glynco Golf Course with his father-in-law and concluded his golfing journey playing almost every weekend at various courses with his son-in-law. He had a hole-in-one at the Brunswick Country Club and got to witness his son-in-law’s hole-in-one at The King and Prince Golf Club at Hampton. He never wavered in his passion for being kind to others and taking every opportunity to speak to people he met along the way. He was honest, generous, loyal, and hard working. He took great pleasure in delivering fresh vegetables and pecans to his lifelong friends and those who he conducted business with.
He often said that his greatest accomplishments were his daughters and granddaughter. He became a grandpa in 2021 and she was the light of his life, and he made sure everyone knew it. He was the ultimate “girl dad” and some of his happiest moments came from spending time with his daughters and all of their friends. He truly loved all the girls in his life and was affectionately known as “PaPa” to many. He also loved to cook and if you knew him, then you were fortunate and blessed to eat at his “Sunday Supper” table.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert Gene Boone and Geneva Sears Boone.
In his immediate family, he is survived by Carol Skipper Boone, his wife of 41 loving years, three beautiful daughters, Taylor Boone Andersen (Matthew) and Erin Alexandra Boone, both of Brunswick, Georgia and Madison Leigh Boone of Auburn, Alabama and one granddaughter Collins Maddex Andersen of Brunswick, Georgia.
Per his request, a private celebration of his life was held Sunday, April 16, 2023.
