Lawanna Parker Howard

Lawanna P. Howard, 79, of Brunswick, departed this life Sunday, February 4, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Glynn Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Darrell joiner officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Blounts Crossing Cemetery in Thalmann.

Born February 1, 1939 in Statesboro to the late Leon and Ruth Pearl H. Parker, she was a homemaker and had been a resident of Glynn County since 1962. She was a member of Glynn Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Howard enjoyed playing Bingo, fishing, hunting and bowling. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Dave R Howard, and a daughter Dorene Chapman.

Survivors include six children, Darlene Ray (Cal) of Hinesville, Aaron Howard (Cindy) of Brunswick, Vanessa Flowers of Hortense, Holly Cochran (Tony) of Brunswick, Andrea Peacock of Brunswick, and Faith Carter of Jesup, twelve grandchildren, several great grandchildren , and one sister Faye Wilson of Meldrim.

The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 10AM until the funeral hour at the church.
