Lee Wilson Sanborn

Lee was born in Medford, MA, to Ralph Wilson Sanborn and Emily Kimball Sanborn, who predecease him. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann Elaine Sullivan Sanborn and their two children, Mark W. Sanborn of Summit, NJ and Lee-Ann Sanborn Conte of Minnetonka, MN. Additional survivors include daughter in-law Kristin Loucks Sanborn, son in-law Raymond Conte, and four grandchildren, Christopher, Zachary, Cecelia and Griffith.

Lee graduated from Belmont High School in Massachusetts and joined the U.S. Army. He served his country with pride during the Korean War. Upon returning, Lee married Ann in 1954 and began civilian life as a full-time student while working various jobs to support his new family. In 1958, Lee graduated from Boston University with a degree in general business and marketing. He held sales engineering and management positions with United Carr, Air Reduction Corp and British Oxygen Corp during his career, moving his family from Boston to Chicago to New Jersey and finally, Dallas.

Despite living in Dallas for 30 years, Lee always considered the greater Boston area “home”. From sailing on the Cape to fishing the trout streams of New Hampshire, Lee enjoyed all that the area had to offer.

In 2013, Lee and Ann moved to the Marshes Edge retirement community in St. Simons, GA. Lee and Ann embraced their new home where they enjoyed 3 wonderful years together.

A funeral service will be held at Christ Church Frederica 6329 Frederica Rd. St. Simons, GA Friday March 10th at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be sent to: New England Center and Home for Veterans 17 Court Street,
