

Jeanette was born in Blackshear, Georgia and graduated from Blackshear High School. She lived in Brunswick for the past 55 years and was a member of Glyndale Baptist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and traveling, but most of all, she loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed.
Jeanette was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Ted Harris; her parents, William Wiley and Susie Bell Brown Tyson; a granddaughter, Kristi Michelle Mason; five siblings, Florence Pittman (E.C.), Dorothy Williamson (Tommy), William W. “Buck” Tyson, Charles Tyson (Lena) and David Tyson (Fran); two brother’s-in-law, Owen Harris and Don Harris and a sister-in-law, Dianne Davis.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Harris Mason (Don) and Susan Harris Norwood (Roger); three grandchildren, Ashley Mason Lacey (Bobby), Alex Norwood (Erin) and Austin Norwood; two great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Rory Lacey; a brother-in-law, Terrell Davis; three sisters-in-law, Eris Harris Melton, Nelda Batten Harris and Carol Jean Batten Tyson; a special niece, Sally Harris and many other loving nieces and nephews.
A service to celebrate Jeanette’s life will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with Tony Batten officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
In Jeanette's honor, the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31520.
