He was born in Chicago, IL on April 14, 1940. Lou worked for the Chicago Transit Authority as an electrician and was a member of the Local 9 – Union. He had a passion for playing the blues on his guitar, riding his horse “Queenie” and being on Island time.
He is preceded in death by his father Louis George Gonzalez; his mother, Susan Gonzalez and his sister, Beatrice Sperekas. He is survived by his grandchildren, Caitlin Gonzalez and Louis Tomas Gonzalez; siblings, Gloria Caswick, Sandra (Jack) Kraus, Sylvia Perez; mother to his grandchildren, Denise O’Dowd; and many nieces and nephews.
The Gonzalez family are inviting friends of Lou to join them for a Celebration of Life Thursday evening at 8:00pm at Ziggy’s on St. Simons Island.
Lou will be taken to Chicago as his final resting place.
