

Louise Thompson, 92, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at her residence. A native of Tifton, Georgia, Mrs. Thompson had been a resident of McIntosh County for the past 71 years. She was born January 14, 1919 to the late George Washington Sumner and the late Nettie Lou Sumler Sumner. Mrs. Thompson was a waitress for many years and a homemaker. She attended Northside Baptist Church in Darien, GA. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Darien, GA. Mrs. Thompson’s favorite pastime activities included cooking and reading. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Mrs. Thompson’s survivors include three sons Vachel Thompson wife Carolyn of Richmond Hill, GA, Jimmy Thompson wife Rosemary of Fitzgerald, GA, and Jerry Thompson wife Dorinda of Augusta, GA; her four daughters Patricia Waller husband J.D. of Darien, GA, Joann Deverger of Darien, GA, Betty Boone of Darien, GA, and Patsy Grange husband Jerry of Leesburg, GA; her daughter-in-law Rita Young of Darien, GA, 23 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years John O. Thompson, her son Lloyd George “Buck” Thompson, her son-in-law George Deverger, and her daughter-in-law Toby Thompson.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 8, 2011 from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home in Brunswick, GA.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church in Darien, GA with Reverend Matt Kunkel officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery in Darien, GA.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Johnny Thompson, Jimmy Dean Waller, Jeffery Grange, Howell Boone, Bruce Deverger, and Jason Webster.
Honorary pallbearers will be Miranda Harris, Dr. Lana Skelton, Dr. John Blumer, Dr. James Snow, Dr. Johnny George, and Colon Ogden.
In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions to be made to the Hospice of the Golden Isles 1692 Glynco Park way Brunswick, GA 31520
