Lynda Lightsey Geldon was born on April 29, 1949, into the loving family of Bonnie and Lynwood Tucker in Moultrie, GA. Her dedicated sister Debbie Tucker Cagle would complete the family five years later. She returned to her creator on June 26, 2022, peacefully with her two daughters by her side in Brunswick, GA.
Lynda was a wildflower who bloomed where she was planted. She will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved her as a quick-witted creative who loved having her hands in the dirt planting and nurturing beautiful things. Her spirit was inclusive and kind.
Lynda was proud to be a child of the 60s, she loved music and art. She said her greatest achievement was raising her daughters Angel Lightsey Hobby and Jenny Lightsey Robbins to be independent hard-working women who gave her four grands that she adored more than anything.
Watching the Georgia Bulldogs win with her mother, sister, and brother-in-love Tommy Cagle was among her favorite pastimes. She was an avid reader who shared her gift of raspy cadence with those she loved by reading aloud Jesus is Calling daily.
She was affectionately known as Mama Lynda by her family who will miss her humor and her hugs:
Her mother Bonnie Striplin Tucker, sister and brother in love Debbie and Tommy Cagle, daughters and family Angel and Gary Hobby, grandson Rooker, Jenny and Len Robbins, grands Reilly, Zack, and Tucker. She treasured time with her nieces and nephews and their beautiful children.
She is greeted in heaven by her father Lynwood Tucker, great-nephew Jonathan Edwards, and countless family and friends.
Her absence will be felt by her loving second family at Magnolia Manor on St. Simons Island.
The family cannot thank those who provided her care enough. In her memory, they ask that donations be made to Magnolia Manor, St. Simons Island or Homerville United Methodist Church where she was a member.
The family will celebrate her life together privately and ask that those who loved her plant something colorful to remember her by.
