Forever a Southern belle, Inez was born and raised in Atlanta. After graduating from Girls High School in 1942, she married and had three children. Her early adult years were spent raising her children, cheering on their swim teams and taking them on many camping trips. The family also enjoyed adventurous flights back and forth to Hilton Head Island. Inez was the bookkeeper of the family furniture business and moved with the company to Millen, Ga., then to Statesboro, Ga. She eventually returned to Atlanta where she worked until retirement. Upon retiring, Inez once again ventured to Hilton Head Island for a few years of island life, then to Darien and St. Simons Island, to be closer to her daughter.
Inez was a shrewd and avid bridge player. She so loved the gamesmanship and fellowship that was shared with and by her friends and competitors. Inez was an accomplished pianist, too. She proudly played a number of years at her beloved First United Methodist Church in Darien. This gave her great joy, and her family is so thankful her Church provided her that opportunity. She was also extremely active in a local Dorcas group and awarded her great pride.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, Pheron C. and Lena Askew Nash and all her siblings.
Inez is survived by her three adult children, Mark Rozar and Bill Rozar, both of Ridgeland, SC, and Gail Rozar Johnson (Ken) of St. Simons Island; and two grandchildren, Drew and Britni Johnson, both of Atlanta.
A service to celebrate Inez’s life will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Darien United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any remembrance blessings be sent to Hospice of the Golden Isles or the First United Methodist Church in Darien.
