Maggie Rowe Buie

Maggie Buie, 66, of Darien, departed this life Thursday, February 4, 2016 at SGHS in Brunswick. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, February 8, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Darien with Rev. Jack Peeler officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrews Cemetery with Chris Mitchell, Chad Mitchell, Brandt Mitchell, Austin Mitchell, Brock Poppell and Brad Poppell serving as pallbearers.

Born June 12, 1949 in Townsend, Georgia to the late Alfred and Annie A. Rowe, she was a graduate of Darien High School Class of 1967. Mrs. Buie was a former Human Resources Manager for Georgia Pacific. A lifelong resident to McIntosh County, Mrs. Buie was a member of First Baptist Church of Darien, where she was a Sunday School teacher and was active in planning and preparing the Senior Citizens Luncheons. She enjoyed shopping, and travel, as well as spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John D. Buie.

Survivors include one son, Dennis Buie and wife Christy of Brunswick, two sisters, Pearl Young of Townsend, Mary Jane Poppell and husband Ronald of Ludowici, two brothers, Lloyd Rowe and wife Earline and Wayne Rowe and wife Shelly all of Townsend, three grandchildren, Lauren Buie, Chad Mitchell and wife Jessie, and Chris Mitchell, five great grandchildren, Austin Mitchell, Alex Mitchell, Brandt Mitchell, Deniacia Mitchell, and Riley Mitchell, several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, February 7, 2016 from 3PM until 5 PM at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home.
