

Malcolm Rufus Woodard, Jr., 83, of Brunswick, departed this life Thursday, April 21, 2016 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Sunday, April 24, 2016 at United Pentecostal Church in Brunswick with Pastor Danny Webster and Bishop H.E. Wheatly officiating. Greg Steele, Jimmy Branch, Shane Stutts, Don Phillips, Ray Potter and Billy Shadron will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr.Lana Skelton, Dr. Colette Lee-Lewis, and Cardiac Rehab Associates will be honorary pallbearers. A private interment will take place in Palmetto Cemetery.
Born September 3, 1932 in Old Town, Maine to the late Malcolm Rufus, Sr. and Irene W. Woodard, he was a retired US Army Veteran having served in Vietnam and was also retired from the United States Postal Service. Mr. Woodard was a member of United Pentecostal Church in Brunswick, and had been a resident of Glynn County since 1971 and was an avid reader, fisherman, and enjoyed woodworking. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 6 brothers, and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Evelyn M. Woodard, 3 children, Richard Woodard and wife Joann, Deborah Mosley, and Brenda Bunkley and husband Randy, all of Brunswick, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 5 sisters, Janice, Diane, Joyce, Charmaine, and June, 3 brothers, Scott, J.R., and Tommy all of Maine, and many nieces and nephews.
