Margaret Williams Bacon

Margaret W. Bacon, 82, of Darien, departed this life Thursday, June 9, 2016 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 AM Monday, June 13, 2016 at Brunswick Memorial Park Cemetery. Justin Lamb, Anthony O’Day, Kelly Lamb, Jr., Joe Poppell, Ad Poppell and Ty Poppell will serve as pallbearers.

Born October 23, 1933 in McIntosh County to the late Hoke and Catherine R. Williams, she was a lifelong resident of Darien and a graduate of Darien High School Class of 1951. She was retired from Georgia Power as a Customer Service Representative and was a member of OES Neptune Chapter. Mrs. Bacon was a member of Darien United Methodist Church and enjoyed music and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, William Carl Lamb, Edward Eugene Bacon, Sr., a son, William Kelly Lamb, Sr., and a brother, Wayne Williams.

Survivors include two children, Rusty Lamb and wife Diane of Darien, Jennifer O’Day and husband Anthony of Belle Plaine, MN, a daughter in law, Margaret Lamb, four step children, Sylvia Bacon Pantsari, Cindy Bacon Norwood, Edward E. Bacon, Jr., and Gena Bacon Cross, five grandchildren, Kelly Lamb, Jr. and wife Callie, Christy Lamb (Speck Echols), Justin Lamb and wife Lindsey, Whitney O’Day, and Mariah O’Day, four great grandchildren, Logann Echols, Kellen Echols, Katelyn Lamb, and Patrick Lamb, and two sisters, Ann Poppell of Darien and Bootie Goodrich and husband Dennis of Townsend.
