

Margarita was born in Manila, Philippines, to Juan Muñoz and Geneveva Newman Muñoz. She attended Santa Isabel College, Manila prior to coming to Glynn County 53 years ago. While in Glynn County, She worked at the First National Bank and later as a substitute teacher for the Glynn County Board of Education. She was a member of the Women’s international Bowling Congress and St. Francis Xavier Church. Margarita enjoyed watching the Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs and playing Mahjong and other board games with her family. She will be missed.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Jesus Ponce; a daughter, Isabelle Ponce; two sisters, Herminia Razon and Rosemarie Panopio and a brother, Juan Muñoz, preceded her in death.
Margarita is survived by two daughters, Rowena Rumer (Eric) and Victoria Vaughn (Bryan); a son, Daniel Ponce; five grandchildren, Amanda Rumer, Alex Rumer (Stewart), Kirsten Waters (Cameron), Emily Fiveash (Timothy) and Jesse Ponce; and two great-great granddaughters, Elliot Claire Fiveash and Lennon Fiveash, all of Brunswick.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, April 10, 2023 from 5:00 to 6:00 pm followed by the funeral mass at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home. Father Tim McKeown will officiate.
